Showing up is half the game
Either you feel it, or you don’t.
Either you are part of it, or you will wake up one day and realize you have missed it all – all the excitement passing by your windows right now.
Like the Vietnamese immigrant who got rich in the Czech Republics and Poland in the transitional 90s. Or the dotCOM millionaires in the Sillicon Valley during the tech boom. Like the many Real Estate success stories in Vietnam of recent memories. Their success stories began with a simple concept: they showed up.

Showing up to play the game, and you are half way there.
Vietnam now is going through a transitional period. The waves are as high as ever, and the valleys are just as deep. Are you part of this change, or are you just watching it (or just foolishly blogging about it)? Are you feeling the energy around you?
I am not saying start-ups and entrepreneurship are for every body. Often, being in a cubicle in a big office and looking out at the craziness out there is the most rational choice. In these uncertain times (wait, were they ever certain?), it can be comforting to know there’s a steady paycheck at the end of the month. There are always enough Cinderellas who do not leave the party before the clock strikes midnight to scare off the faint of hearts. Often, the only clock on the wall is greed, and if you keep using it as your guide, you will never know when to leave.
I hope you are driven by something of lasting value, and of some service to others.
If you are here in Vietnam, and you are trying to build something. If you show up to work every day, and you make the kind of friends who makes the whole process more enjoyable. In due time, you – the guy who shows up to ride the tidal changes – will suceed.
OK, enough of the self-motivation speech. I think the instant noodle is ready.
